Ski in Val Ferret, Italy

If there are some magical spots in alps made for ski touring, Val Ferret is one of those

Located in south of Mont Blanc, exactly on the bottom foot of Rochefort-Jorasse south faces, Val Ferret is drawn for ski touring. In the heart of this preserved natural area, we find Bonatti hut.

Here all things are brought together to success in 3 or 4 days ski trip.

From the 9th to 12th of february 2018, we enjoyed this place in fantastic snow and ski conditions.

Coming from Aiguille du midi, and crossing the Glacier du Géant in France, we skied down Glacier de Toule and reached La Palud in Italy.

This first part of our trip takes place in a high mountain scene. Even if the positive vertical drop of this day tour is quite little, this step is demanding because of the altitude and the length of the down skiing.

In La Palud, little village in Val Ferret, there is a lot af snow this winter, the atmosphere is quite and friendly, in contrast with the French side Chamonix

Bonatti hut is a perfect starting point for ski touring. Lot of great peaks surrounding and proposing amazing slopes. Orientation is mostly north, what is keeping the snow cold an good for skiing. During all the trip we kept an eye on those crazy and beautiful south faces of Mont Blanc, Peuterey, Rochefort and Jorasses peaks.
