This Nordic raid crosses the Pallas – Ÿllas Tunturi National Park in northwestern Finnish Lapland.
It is a wild and very unspoilt place, like many places in northern Finland. This park protects the chain of Tunturis, one of the most important massif of the country.
The fauna is rich, there are many birds, including the snow bunting, the emblem of the park. In summer, more than 150 species can be counted, whereas in winter only 5 species live there.
Many large mammals live in these protected areas, including the brown bear, rare wolves, lynx, wolverines and one of the largest animal in Europe, the moose.
The vegetation is a wonderful sample of the best forest and swamp landscape in Lapland. The region has ancient forests of priceless importance.
The area includes all types of Nordic forest, northern Finland spruce forest, Lapland pine forests and birch forests.
The Hetta Pallas trail is a trail very popular in Finland and frequented during the beautiful season.
It was in 1934 and is very well marked.
In winter, when it is covered with snow, it is a real Nordic adventure.

Day by day
Day 1: Flight, transfer to Enontekio 2 hours from Kittila. Accommodation in Enontekio.
Day 2: Departure of the trek from our accommodation. After crossing Lake Ounasjarvi, we enter the forest and the Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park to Sioskuru tupa.
400 M vertical drop, 15 km, 5 to 7 hours of walking.
Day 3: We continue our journey above the forest line, in the heart of Tunturis, Siosvaraa, Sillavaraa, Tappuri, Rouvivarra, Pikkavaraa, to join Hannukuru
300 M vertical drop, 14 km, 5 to 7 hours of walking.
Day 4: We cross Suastunturi (484 m), then we sink in the Lapin forest at the foot of the chain of Tunturis to Nammalakuru.
200 M vertical drop, 15 km, 5 to 7 hours of walking
Day 5: A last step to join Pallas. After a start in the forest at the foot of Jäkäläkero we cross the highest region of the chain of Tunturis and its highest point Taivaskero 809 m. A descent of 6 km takes us to Pallas, the exit point of the national park.

On the spot
-the team: a French mountain guide, living in Finnish Lapland.
– Travel: Transfer Kittila/Rovaniemi – Enontekio – Pallas – Enontekio – Kittila/Rovaniemi is done in private vehicle.
-Accommodation: Enontekio (2 nights)
During the trek (3 nights), in traditional Finnish house. These houses are unguarded and managed by Metsähallitus. They all have a heating system, wood available, a stove, mattresses, pillows and blankets.
-Meals: This trek this drop in complete autonomy, the meals consist essentially of lyophilized meals. They are rich and balanced enough to provide the energy needed to complete the trek. The snacks are made of local products (meat of dried rendeers, cheese, deli and Finnish bread), cereals, dried fruits, chocolate, soups, tea and coffee.
-Luggage transport: you will transport all of your belongings in your personal pulka, which you will pull during the duration of the trek. A small backpack of 20 l will offer you extra comfort for the day.
-The composition of the group: the group will not exceed 6 participants.
International flights to Helsinki and then regular internal flight Helsinki Kittila (or Helsinki Rovaniemi).
Finland is part of the euro area.
ATMs make it easy to withdraw money.
Getting ready to go
The nordic ski do not require technical skills or specific training. However, good resistance to long-lasting, low-temperature efforts and cold in general is necessary.

An anti-inflammatory (tablets and gel).
A broad-spectrum antibiotic.
An antispasmodic, an antidiarrheic, an intestinal antibiotic, an anti-emetic.
